17s compete in St. Louis; 16s, 14s ready for next tournaments
The Southport 17-Mizuno took 9th out of 36 teams that took part in the Gateway Qualifier over the weekend. Congrats, fellas. The 16s play in Schaumburg on Jan. 22. Then on Jan. 29, the 14s play in Waukesha and the 16s are in Romeoville, Ill. Good luck to all.
The Southport 17s made program history by competing in the prestigious Palos Points series on Dec. 17-18. The team was placed in the third tier of teams (out of seven), a respectable spot for our first time in the tournament. On the same weekend, the Southport 16s team defeated Lake Country and Chicago Bounce before losing to Energy and Adversity in Vernon Hills.
In other news: Southport volleyball is honored to be working closer with Mizuno sporting goods for jerseys, warm-ups, bags and footwear. Players this year will receive two jerseys, shorts, warm-up shirts, pants, bags and shoes from Mizuno as part of our arrangement.

SOUTHPORT VOLLEYBALL CLUB IS A PROUD MEMBER OF THE BADGER REGION!!
Founded in 2009 by Curtis Madson and Brian Sharkey
|
Southport Volleyball Club is dedicated to the promotion of boys volleyball in southeastern Wisconsin (along with support from northeastern Illinois). It is our goal to give boys ages 14-18 the highest level of instruction in the sport of volleyball as possible and use that training to compete in tournaments at the regional and, eventually, the national level. We will expect a hard work ethic, sportsmanship and positive attitude from players, coaches and parents.
A players' ability level will be judged by coaches and club directors, who will also determine the athlete's position, role and playing time. These decision will be based on an athlete's ability, attitude and attendance when it comes to the functioning of the club, noting that all three are not necessarily weighed equally.
In addition we hope to promote the sport of volleyball and train athletes to the best of our ability without putting an additional tax on the player or parents when it comes to time or financial costs. Club directors have the final say in any decision that has to do with the Southport Volleyball Club.
